Data Warehouse for Daily Production Statistics
The Business

Global gold mining company with multiple production sites in North America and Australia.

The Business Need

Consolidate daily operational data from disparate mine systems into a consistent format to facilitate analysis of production activities.

Strategy

Implement a data warehouse to store the production data and provide managers with tools to analyze the data.

Approach

Developed an SQL server-based data warehouse into which daily statistics were imported from domestic and overseas mine sites.   Daily data was aggregated into monthly and yearly summaries.  Management was provided with Windows-based drill-down screens presenting production data in both tabular and graphical format for analysis.
